Competition License

So You’ve Decided To Go Racing…

Good choice!  An RMVR Competition License opens the door to an exhilarating sport. And it is accepted by most vintage racing associations across North America.

New To Racing?  RMVR conducts an annual Competition Driving School early each racing season. To take advantage of this school, the student must turn 16 during the calendar year in which he or she attends Competition Driving School or be 16 or older and have access to a road race car with a current logbook issued by RMVR or another racing organization. Upon completion of the School, drivers will receive a Provisional Competition License.  Upon successfully completing two race weekends, a driver will receive their full Competition License from the Chief Driving Instructor.  See our “Events” section of this website for School details.

Already have current competition licenses?  If you have a license from another recognized organization, you may apply for an RMVR Competition License by submitting the link below to the online Application.  Other recognized schools, such as Skip Barber, Bondurant, and organizations such as SCCA and NASA will be accepted.  If you wish to apply for an RMVR Competition License, it’s time for some paperwork:

  • Make an online Application for a Competition License to the Chief Driving Instructor (CDI).
  • A Medical Exam Form must be filled out and signed by a physician and included with the License Application.
