2021 Race Against Kids Cancer

Saturday – Sunday, July 31- August 1, 2021
High Plains Raceway, Deer Trail, CO

This is Our Most Popular Race and it Helps Fight Kids’ Cancer!

This race event is special, and the 10th Annual Race Against Kids’ Cancer will be no exception.  Not only does it attract our largest run groups of the year, but in cooperation with the The Morgan Adams Foundation, it raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for pediatric cancer research – each year!  Together, over the past 9 years, we have raised over $1.2 million!

SPECIAL COVID-19 NOTE TO REGISTRANTS:
Due to the current COVID-19 environment, our 2021 events will be conducted with the same COVID protocols used at our 2020 Events. This, by the way, worked very well and did NOT diminish the quality of the racing experience.  Sadly, socializing aspects were compromised. But we’re all getting used to that, are we not?  Please honor distancing measures and enhanced cleaning protocols. And a strong request that masks be worn when  roaming the pits to socialize at a distance.  We are expected to adhere to all city, county, state and health department guidelines with respect to social distancing and maximum group sizes.  Thank you for your understanding in these difficult circumstances.respect to social distancing and maximum group sizes.

RMVR Exclusive Friday Test & Tune

For the first time, RMVR has reserved High Plains Raceway on Friday for an exclusive test & tune day.  That means RMVR members and RAKC entrants will not have to share the track with the general public the day before our most popular race!  Stay tuned for more, we are planning a few special incentives for Friday.

Morgan Adams Foundation Grid Girls & Guys

Once again we are bringing back the the Grid Girls & Guys to help raise money for the fight against pediatric cancer.  In return for a small donation, they are available for pictures and to help the drivers stay cool under an umbrella while they’re waiting in the grid before each race session.

Saturday Night Dinner & Movie

On Saturday night, after a fun day of racing for a great cause, we come together to celebrate with a catered dinner, open bar, and a movie – all at the track.  Tickets are available for drivers, spectators, crew, family and guests.

Sponsorship Donations

In conjunction with The Morgan Adams Foundation, we have established an easy way for people to contribute by way of sponsoring a club driver with a donation.   Each race entrant is encouraged to create a profile on the Race Against Kids Cancer sponsorship site so their friends, family and colleagues can sponsor them by making a donation to The Morgan Adams Foundation.

Tickets To Ride

Subject to COVID-19 restrictions we may be offering the Tickets to Ride program this year.

High Plains Raceway

As usual, we will be running the 2.55 mile full course at High Plains Raceway with its 15 turns, 300+ feet cumulative elevation change, and half-mile straight.  For drivers and crew, paddock options include covered concrete car ports and RV spots will full hookups (both require reservations).  Several grades of race gas is available on premise.  While admission is free for spectators – with full paddock access! – please remind guests that because this is our charity event, they will have the opportunity to make a donation to the fight against kids cancer at the entry gate. There are two great viewing areas (one offers shade) and hot food and beverages are available all day.  Gates open at 7:00 AM.

Schedule

Friday is an optional open-lapping day for testing and tuning.  Only RMVR members and RAKC entrants will be allowed to participate.  You can sign up for open-lapping (1/2 day or full day) in advance online via High Plains Raceway, or in person at the track.

Saturday and Sunday will be full days of racing from 8:30 to 5:00.  On Saturday, there will be a morning practice session, followed by a qualifying session, and then two races per run group.  On Sunday, there will be a short test/tune session followed by three races per run group.
