This is Our Most Popular Race and it Helps Fight Kids’ Cancer!

This race event is special, and the 10th Annual Race Against Kids’ Cancer will be no exception.  Not only does it attract our largest run groups of the year, but in cooperation with the The Morgan Adams Foundation, it raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for pediatric cancer research – each year!  Together, over the past 9 years, we have raised over $1.2 million!

Tickets To Ride

The popular Ticket To Ride program is held during the lunch break on both Saturday and Sunday.  Spectators, crew, family and guests are invited to purchase a 3-lap ride around the track in either a race car or high performance sports car.  Tickets are available for purchase at the track until lunch on Sunday.

Track Tours

If a ride at speed in a race car is a bit daunting, this year we’re also offering Track Tours over the lunch time on both days.  For $25 you can take your personal car for three slow laps around the complete circuit (at modest street speeds controlled by a pace car).  You’ll get to see what the racers see, but at modest speeds to enable you to take it all in.  For the $25 you can include as many people in your car as you have seats with factory seat restraints.

Morgan Adams Foundation Grid Girls & Guys

Once again we are bringing back the the Grid Girls & Guys to help raise money for the fight against pediatric cancer.  In return for a small donation, they are available for pictures and to help the drivers stay cool under an umbrella while they’re waiting in the grid before each race session.

Saturday Night Dinner & Band

On Saturday night, after a fun day of racing for a great cause, we come together to celebrate with a catered dinner, open bar, and live band – all at the track.  One dinner ticket is included with each driver registration.  Additional tickets are available for spectators, crew, family and guests.

Sponsorship Donations

In conjunction with The Morgan Adams Foundation, we have established an easy way for people to contribute by way of sponsoring a club driver with a donation.   Each race entrant is encouraged to create a profile on the Race Against Kids Cancer sponsorship site so their friends, family and colleagues can sponsor them by making a donation to The Morgan Adams Foundation.

High Plains Raceway

As usual, we will be running the 2.55 mile full course at High Plains Raceway with its 15 turns, 300+ feet cumulative elevation change, and half-mile straight.  For drivers and crew, paddock options include covered concrete car ports and RV spots will full hookups (both require reservations).  Several grades of race gas is available on premise.  While admission is free for spectators – with full paddock access! – please remind guests that because this is our charity event, they will have the opportunity to make a donation to the fight against kids cancer at the entry gate. There are two great viewing areas (one offers shade) and hot food and beverages are available all day.  Gates open at 7:00 AM.

Friday is an optional open-lapping day for testing and tuning.  You can sign up for open-lapping (1/2 day or full day) in advance online via High Plains Raceway, or in person at the track.

Saturday and Sunday will be full days of racing from 8:30 to 5:00.  On Saturday, there will be a morning practice session, followed by a qualifying session, and then two races per run group.  On Sunday, there will be a short test/tune session followed by three races per run group.
