Policies and rules are in place and inspections are done to attempt to help assure a safe racing environment. The recipient of this Scholarship is expected to know and follow those RMVR rules and policies. However, human and mechanical factors are always present which can cause accidents. Race car driving can be a dangerous sport. Many hazards including contact with other cars or contact with solid objects may be encountered. Neither RMVR nor any of its members or car owner assume responsibility for any damage or injuries caused by your choosing to enter an RMVR event or other track event. The driver of the scholarship car and his/her successors agree to indemnify and hold harmless James Stiehr (the car owner), Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing, Ltd. (RMVR), and RMVR members from any damage, injury or death which may result from activities related to RMVR and/or the scholarship car. The driver of the scholarship understands that the scholarship car is over 45 years old, lacks many modern safety features, is subject to material or design failure and agrees that there is no warranty or representation that the car will perform or function without incident or breakdown the occurrence of which may result in damage, injury or death. As with any racing, in the event of damage to the car due to an accident (regardless of fault) or abuse of the car, the driver is responsible for repairs. In the case of driving the Scholarship car, to minimize repair costs, repairs to the Scholarship car will be done as much as possible by collective free voluntary time and talent of the RMVR FF Racers Group. But all out-of-pocket costs for needed repairs will be the responsibility of the driver. To limit financial exposure, that out-of-pocket liability to the driver will be capped at a maximum of $2,500.
