RMVR Competition Drivers’ School

This program is intended for those who already have (or will be purchasing) an eligible vintage race car and who are seeking a full Competition License to regularly race with RMVR.

During this two day school, you will participate in 10 classroom sessions and 10 on-track sessions where you will:

• learn to exercise precise and expert car control
• get specific instruction from a team of expert driving instructors
• learn about vintage racing and the vintage racing ethic
• share in the joy of racing in a safe environment

By the end of the weekend, you will be equipped to safely and confidently drive on track in a racing environment.

As a very special feature of this year’s school, professional race driver Randy Pobst will be a guest instructor during the weekend. Randy is a 2 time SCCA National Champion, a 4 time Pirelli World Challenge series Champion, and 2 time winner at the 24 Hours of Daytona! Recently Randy has been hugely successful racing the 3R Racing prepared K-Pax Volvos in the World Challenge series. Special thanks to Bob Raub at 3R Racing for arranging for RMVR to have Randy in the classroom session on Friday evening, at the track all day on Saturday, and until noon on Sunday.

Another new addition to this year’s school is a Skid Pad session on Friday afternoon. This is a great opportunity to practice “steady state cornering” to clearly identify over-steer or under-steer conditions and practice how to correct it.

RMVR Precision Drivers’ School

Perhaps you are not currently ready to buy a vintage race car, but you want a quality track experience. You want to gain track skills and see if you like it. Participate in our Precision Drivers’ School using your own street car!

During this two day school you will:

• receive the same instructions as the Competition students, except that you will not be on track Sunday for wheel-to-wheel competition
• learn to exercise precise and expert car control
• get specific instruction from a team of expert driving instructors
• learn about driving the Pikes Peak International Raceway track
• share in the joy of racing in a safe environment

By the end of the weekend, you will be equipped to safely and confidently drive on track and at speed.
