Be a part of history! For the thrill of a lifetime, mark your race calendar for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, July 14-19, 2009. This will be the second annual running of Vintage Cars on the Hill in conjunction with the 87th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The PPIHC is the granddaddy of all Hill Climbs, the second oldest race in US history. Race the 12.5 mile course with 150 plus turns to 14110 ft.
Also on the calendar for race week is a reception cocktail party for drivers and crews after tech on Tuesday. Wednesday through Friday will be practice and qualifying. Friday night will be Fan Fest in downtown Colorado Springs, and on Saturday there will be a vintage car/vintage motorcycle show and street party in historic Manitou Springs, a charming mountain community at the base of Pikes Peak. If you’re interested in entering your car in the Saturday show, please download the Vintage Racing Festival Car & Motorcycle Show Entry Form and send it in by July 10th, 2009 the day of the show.
This region is rich in Colorado history and sights to see, including the historic cog railway to the top of Pikes Peak, the Garden of the Gods, the Cave of the Winds, and the historic Broadmoor Hotel. Bring the whole family.
