In Memoriam: Ellis Cahn

This year, both RMVR & the Conclave celebrate their Silver Anniversaries. For 2008, the Conclave is being dedicated to Ellis Cahn, whose personal dedication to the event in the past few years is the stuff of legend. Last year’s participation and promotion of vintage racing was quite good. This year we need an unprecedented level of participation.

In an effort to make this happen and to do so in a streamlined fashion, we are making changes that are designed to specifically accommodate the needs of the RMVR Conclave Entrant.

Enter early! The process we have designed will work out best with early pre-registration. There is a Box on the form to indicate if your entry is a ‘Racecar’. Please mark as such to indicate you will be displaying with the racecars.

Registration opens at 8:00 AM. If we flow in to the park in a steady fashion, there will be minimal backup and delays. The City of Arvada will not permit any trailers or road going tow vehicles in the park or on the park’s pathways. They also require us to be quiet, so loud cars cannot be started (especially in the morning). Cars will be off-loaded and rolled or towed with an ATV into the park.

Trailers will need to park in the Arvada West High School parking lot, 11325 Allendale Drive Arvada, CO 80004, less than a mile away (not the Elementary School lot at the west end of the park). A map will be provided, as will shuttle transportation between parking lot & park.

Cars driven to the venue will access it from Ralston Road (64th Avenue) & Oak Street north to and then east (Right) on 64th Place: Arvada’s Oak Park.

Trailered entries will access the venue from Ralston Road (64th Avenue) & Miller Street, north to and then turning west (left) on 64th Place, off-loading on the driver’s right, near the park’s southeast parking lot. There will be people there to assist with finishing the registration process or get you registered. RMVR workers, whom you regularly trust with your life, will be there to escort your car to the display area. You can then proceed to parking, making way for another trailer, and return to the park via shuttle.

We can make this an exceptional event, an additional Silver Anniversary Party, and something that would make Ellis proud.
