General Competition Rules

The 1959, 1967, 1972 & 1979 SCCA General Competition Rules (GCR) are the basis for competing in RMVR events. It is the owner’s responsibility to read and understand these rules before constructing a racecar. The SCCA 1954-1972 GCR is not available online or from RMVR; it can be purchased from the SCCA at Vintage/Historic GCR & Specs. Stay tuned for information about the 1979 GCR.

Why does this website look so plain?

You have disabled stylesheets, you are using a portable device (PDA or cellphone), or you are using a browser that does not support modern web standards. To spare you from seeing the attempt your browser would have made at displaying the full design, much of the presentational aspects of the site are being hidden from you. You can continue to read the site in this plain text, stripped-down form, or you can consider upgrading your browser.

How can I upgrade?

Upgrading is generally an easy task, but that depends on your web browser, your computer's operating system and your level of understanding. Current versions of the following browsers are more secure and support numerous web standards including CSS, XHTML, and the DOM (a universal means of controlling the behavior of web pages):

While this page is intended to suggest some good options for upgrading your browser, please note that this is not an exhaustive list of browsers that support web standards, nor a test of browser compliance. Also, we do not intend to recommend a particular manufacturer's browser; only to suggest upgrading to a browser version that gives you the best and most secure browsing experience.
